Historic Parallelism in The Book of Mormon

Our nation has a history, which parallels the account of The Book of Mormon. This is not a happenstance or mere coincidence. It is by design. The Lord designed this parallelism into The Book of Mormon.

The Lord showed to His prophets, Mormon and Moroni, the events that would take place in our days. (See Mormon chapter 8 especially verses 34-35.) The Lord then instructed them to take the records of their people, the Nephites, and to assemble the account in such a way as to show us, in the latter days, by parallelism, the kind of events and problems, which will take place among us.
